🍷 Standard wine bottle (0.75 l)
The ordinary 750 millilitre wine bottle.
A standard bottle is the usual wine bottle of 750 millilitres. It is the one you see most often in a shop. It holds about five glasses of wine.
This volume is accepted almost worldwide, and other sizes are counted from it. A bottle twice as big is called a magnum, and one half the size is a half bottle. These sizes are collected in the range of wine bottle sizes. It includes huge ones: Jeroboam, Methuselah, Salmanazar, Balthazar and Nebuchadnezzar.
A standard bottle is convenient. It fits a shelf, a cellar and a wine rack, and wine ages well in it. In larger bottles wine usually develops more slowly. Bottles come in different shapes: Bordeaux with sharp shoulders, Burgundy with sloping ones, Rhine tall and narrow. But the volume is most often the same. The standard bottle falls under the general idea of a wine bottle.
