🥃 Gordon's Sicilian Lemon
Gordon's lemon line: distilled gin with natural flavourings, 37.5% ABV; on sale since 2020.
Gordon's Sicilian Lemon is the lemon line of the Gordon's brand, announced on 26 February 2020. The producer calls it a Mediterranean version of Alexander Gordon's original recipe. It is a distilled gin of 37.5% ABV in a 70 cl bottle; it reached British retail shelves from 10 March.
According to the producer, the aroma combines juniper and citrus, the taste has a pronounced lemon note, and triple distillation gives clarity. A trade publication writes that the recipe uses only natural flavourings; there is no full list of botanicals. Under EU rules a flavoured distilled gin must meet the requirements for gin, so juniper keeps the main role.
Why this matters to you. Compared with London Dry, this line has a citrus accent at the same 37.5% ABV. If you like the classic juniper taste, start with the base line and take Sicilian Lemon for longer serves. The WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol.
