Skyy Vodka is the classic unflavoured vodka of the Skyy brand. It forms the base of the whole range, including the flavoured Skyy Infusions. According to Difford's Guide, its strength is 40% ABV. The official website links it to San Francisco: the water used for dilution is enriched with minerals from San Francisco Bay.
According to the producer, the vodka is made from American grain and water, distilled four times and filtered in three stages. Difford's Guide describes the European version in more detail: spirit made from wheat is distilled in a four-column still, filtered through calcium carbonate, cellulose plates and granular carbon, and bottled in Novi Ligure, Italy. The raw material may therefore vary by market. Like the rest of the brand, the bottle is cobalt blue.
Why it matters to you. If you need a neutral base for a cocktail, this is the version to choose. Skyy Infusions Citrus and Skyy Infusions Pineapple have flavour and usually a lower strength. The WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
