🍇 Treixadura

Grape variety ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 3

A white grape of Galicia and northern Portugal, where it is called Trajadura.

Treixadura is a white grape from Galicia, in north-western Spain, and from northern Portugal. In Portugal it is called Trajadura. It grows in Ribeiro, and also in Monterrei, Condado do Tea and in Vinho Verde.

It is an aromatic variety. The wine is pale, with aromas of flowers and peach, light citrus acidity and a pleasant softness. It is often blended with other Galician grapes, such as Albariño, Loureiro and Torrontés. But wines made from Treixadura alone also exist.

Galicia has a cool and damp climate. Vineyards grow on hilly terraces near rivers. The variety needs attention: it is sensitive to moisture and disease.

Treixadura belongs to Spanish wine and to the wine of Portugal. It is a local grape that is becoming better known: in Ribeiro it holds the main place in white blends. The wine goes well with fish and seafood. Alcohol is for adults.
