🥃 Christian Brothers VS Brandy
Core Christian Brothers brandy, 40% ABV (80 proof); owned by Heaven Hill Brands since 1999; the base for the flavoured versions.
Christian Brothers VS Brandy is the core brandy of the Christian Brothers Brandy line, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The brand's history goes back to the Brothers of the Christian Schools, an order that began work in Martinez, California, in 1882. According to a Liquor and Liqueur Connoisseur episode, the brand has been owned by Heaven Hill Brands since 1999.
Heaven Hill states that the flavoured versions, such as Peach, are based on VS Brandy, so it is the foundation of the line. The open sources we checked do not describe the grape varieties, the still type or the ageing period, so we do not list them. We only know that the producer speaks of brandy made from selected grape varieties and aged in oak barrels.
Why this matters to you. VS Brandy is stronger than Christian Brothers Honey and Christian Brothers Peach, which are both 35% ABV. These are different drinks: one is a brandy, the others are flavoured versions. Check the label. The WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
