Cheese range ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 1 Updated:

Sargento Shredded Cheese is the shredded natural cheese range of the Wisconsin brand Sargento: cheddar, Monterey Jack, Swiss and cheese blends.

Sargento Shredded Cheese is the shredded natural cheese range of Sargento, the brand of the family-owned company Sargento Foods Inc. from Plymouth, Wisconsin (USA).

The range includes single cheeses and blends. Single cheeses include mild, sharp and Double Cheddar, Monterey Jack and Swiss. Blends combine several cheeses for a particular cuisine: 4 Cheese Mexican for Mexican dishes, 4 Cheese Italian for pizza and pasta, and mozzarella with Parmesan. There are Reduced Fat versions and an aged Italian blend from the Reserve Series.

The cheese comes in two cuts: Fine Cut, which melts quickly and covers a dish evenly, and Traditional Cut, a thicker shred for baking. To stop the shreds from sticking together, powdered cellulose or potato starch is added, as the company explains on its website.

How to use: on pizza, pasta, lasagne, tacos, nachos, omelettes and bakes. Reseal an opened pack tightly and keep it refrigerated.

Why it matters to you: the blend name on the pack tells you which cuisine it is made for, and Fine Cut or Traditional Cut tells you how fast it will melt.
