The oldest single malt in The Glenturret's core range: at least 15 years old; higher strength, 55% ABV (2020), 50.8% (2023–2024).
The Glenturret 15 Year Old is the oldest whisky in the core range of The Glenturret distillery near Crieff. It is a single malt Scotch whisky at least 15 years old, bottled at a higher strength: 55% ABV in 2020 and 50.8% in the 2023 and 2024 collections.
Drinks International names the 15 Year Old among the four core whiskies with which the brand returned in November 2020; the collection was created by Bob Dalgarno. GreatDrams describes it as one of the most unusual versions of the collection because of its higher strength. Sources do not name the cask type. According to Whisky Magazine, the brand releases its older whiskies, aged 25, 30 and 35 years, only in limited batches of a few hundred bottles.
Why it matters to you. High strength noticeably changes the impression, so this whisky is often diluted with a few drops of water. Compare it with The Glenturret 12 Year Old: the difference is three years of age and several percentage points of strength. Check the strength of a specific batch on the label. The WHO reminds: there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
