🥃 Bulleit 10 Year Old Bourbon
Bulleit bourbon with a stated 10-year age in new charred American white oak barrels; 45.6 % ABV (91.2 proof).
Bulleit 10 Year Old Bourbon is the version of Bulleit bourbon with a stated age of 10 years. Its strength is 45.6 % ABV (91.2 proof), slightly higher than the standard Bulleit Bourbon. Together with the ten-year rye whiskey, it belongs to the “10 Year Aged Whiskeys” range.
Production. According to Difford's Guide, the grain bill is the same as the standard version: 68 % corn, 28 % rye and 4 % malted barley. The whiskey matures for 10 years in new charred American white oak barrels. That guide describes a full, toasty, spicy taste with notes of caramel, cinnamon and red pepper.
Why it matters to you. Compare it with Bulleit Bourbon without an age statement: the grain is the same, while the length of ageing and the strength differ. Do not confuse it with Bulleit Rye, which has a different grain bill. A longer ageing does not automatically make a spirit better, since the choice depends on taste. The WHO reminds that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
