Pasta Zara Linea Biologica is the organic dry pasta line of Pasta Zara. According to the official site it is made from durum wheat semolina from organic farming (agricoltura biologica) and water. As in the brand's other lines, the dough is made with spring water from the Dolomites.
The line has four shapes: spaghetti, penne rigate, fusilli and risini, a small soup pasta shaped like rice grains. Spaghetti and fusilli cook in 8–9 minutes, penne rigate in 9–11 minutes and risini in 6–7 minutes.
Organic farming in the EU means growing without synthetic pesticides and mineral fertilisers under rules checked by certification bodies. In taste and use the pasta is the same as Linea Classica: spaghetti for tomato sauces, penne and fusilli for thick sauces, risini for soups. The line belongs to dry durum wheat pasta.
