Pasta Zara Linea Integrale is the wholegrain dry pasta range of Pasta Zara. According to the official site it is made from wholemeal durum wheat semolina and water; the wheat is grown in EU and non-EU countries and milled in Italy. The dough is made with spring water from the Dolomites.
Wholemeal semolina keeps the bran and germ of the grain, so the pasta is darker, has a stronger nutty taste and contains more fibre than pasta made from regular semolina. The range has four shapes: spaghetti, mezze maniche (short wide tubes), fusilli and penne rigate. Spaghetti and mezze maniche cook in 8–9 minutes, fusilli in 9–11 minutes.
Wholegrain pasta goes well with vegetables, pulses, mushrooms and olive oil sauces. The range belongs to dry durum wheat pasta; the organic version of this pasta forms a separate Pasta Zara line, Linea Bio Integrale.
