🥃 Belvedere Single Estate Rye
Belvedere vodka series made from rye grown on a single farm: Smogóry Forest (western Poland) and Lake Bartężek (Masuria); 40% ABV; launched in 2018.
Belvedere Single Estate Rye is a series of Belvedere vodkas, each version made from rye grown on a single farm. According to the press release of 12 June 2018, the series consists of Smogóry Forest and Lake Bartężek. Both are 40% ABV according to the producer’s nutrition page.
Both use the Dankowskie Diamond rye variety. Smogóry Forest comes from a small farm in western Poland, and Lake Bartężek from a farm in the Masurian Lake District in the north. The producer describes the first as notes of salted caramel, honey and white pepper, and the second as black pepper, roasted nuts and cream. Both are made of rye distillate and water, with no flavoring.
Why this matters to you. The idea of the series is to show how the growing place affects the taste of vodka, although tasting notes remain subjective. Compare it with Belvedere Organic Vodka, where the rye is not tied to one farm. The WHO notes there is no safe amount of alcohol.
