🥃 Talisker Storm
An Isle of Skye single malt from Talisker with no age statement: 45.8% ABV, refreshed and reused bourbon casks; launched in 2013.
Talisker Storm is a single malt whisky from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye, with no age statement. Its strength is 45.8% ABV. According to Difford's Guide, the expression was introduced in February 2013 and is more expressive and sharper than Talisker 10 Year Old. With no age on the label, the bottle contains a blend of whiskies of different ages.
According to Difford's Guide, it is blended from whisky matured in refreshed and reused bourbon casks. The distillery in Carbost works with moderately peated malt, five stills and water condensers, and takes its water from the springs of Hawk Hill. The owner is Diageo. Difford's Guide's tasting note mentions salt, black pepper and smoke.
Why this matters to you. Storm has the same strength as the ten-year-old, but no age on the label, so compare it by taste and casks rather than by years. Nearby in the range are Talisker Skye and Talisker 10 Year Old. The WHO reminds us that no level of alcohol consumption is safe.
