Di Martino Barbie is Di Martino's children's dry pasta line, created together with the Barbie doll brand. The pasta is made in Gragnano from Italian durum wheat and extruded through bronze dies; the company describes these shapes as Pasta di Gragnano IGP Di Martino Barbie.
The line includes small, child-friendly shapes: alphabet pasta, whose letters children can arrange into words right on the plate (the company calls it children's favourite shape), farfalle, pennette rigate, lumachine shaped like little snails, stivalettini with a hole in the middle, rice-like orzo and spaghetti. The pasta is sold in Barbie packs and in gift sets and boxes with aprons, a recipe book or a Barbie Chef doll.
The company recommends the small shapes for broths and soups, farfalle and pennette for dishes with vegetables, cheese and tomato sauce, and spaghetti for the classic tomato and basil sauce.
