Di Martino Pasta BIO
Di Martino's organic dry pasta line from Italian durum wheat: spaghetti, tortiglioni and penne mezzani rigate.
Di Martino Pasta BIO is the organic dry pasta line of the Di Martino factory in Gragnano. It is made from organically grown Italian durum wheat. The company holds EU organic certification: the raw material is grown without chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilisers, and the whole supply chain is checked. Like the rest of Di Martino's pasta, the dough is extruded through bronze dies.
The line currently has three shapes. Spaghetti BIO are the classic medium-thick long pasta. Tortiglioni BIO are short ridged tubes with spiral grooves that, according to the company, hold sauce very well. Penne mezzani rigate BIO are ridged penne with a diagonal cut, versatile with many sauces. The website section is called "Pasta integrale e bio", but it currently contains no wholegrain shapes; all three are organic.
The company suggests pairing spaghetti BIO with simple Italian sauces such as tomato, and tortiglioni and penne with meat and vegetable sauces. The line is for people who choose organic food and classic durum wheat pasta.
