📜 La Grande Rue

Appellation ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 1 Updated:

A small red grand cru in Vosne-Romanée between La Tâche and Romanée-Conti.

La Grande Rue is a small vineyard plot in the village of Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy. It is a grand cru, the top step of the Burgundy classification. Still red wine is made here from Pinot Noir. The name is protected as a PDO.

The plot is long and narrow, lying between two famous neighbours: La Tâche and Romanée-Conti. It received grand cru status in 1992. Before that the wine was classed as premier cru.

La Grande Rue wine is usually described as fine and elegant, with red fruit and spice. Few bottles are produced, because the plot itself is small.

Other famous Vosne-Romanée sites lie nearby. In Burgundy place decides quality: each parcel with its own soil and slope gives a wine of its own character, and all are united by the Pinot Noir grape.
