Zvenigora Curd Cheeses
Zvenigora Curd Cheeses are tvorog (curd cheese) Rozsypchastyi, Tradytsiinyi and Fihura from Zvenyhorodka, in different fat levels.
Zvenigora Curd Cheeses is the tvorog (curd cheese) range of the Zvenyhorodka cheese plant. Tvorog is a fresh cheese made from soured milk with the whey drained off; it is not ripened.
The range has three products: Rozsypchastyi (crumbly), Tradytsiinyi (traditional) and Fihura, a soft curd cheese with a balanced protein and fat content, in the range since 2019. The producer notes different fat levels; check the exact figure on the pack. Rozsypchastyi has a grainy texture, Tradytsiinyi a classic fresh-sour taste.
How to use: for breakfast with sour cream, berries or honey, and for syrnyky, bakes, varenyky and cheesecakes. For syrnyky, the drier crumbly tvorog works best.
Storage: tvorog is perishable, so keep it in the fridge and use an opened pack within a day or two.
