🧀 Zvenigora

Zvenigora (Звени Гора) is the cheese brand of the Zvenyhorodka cheese plant in the town of Zvenyhorodka, Cherkasy region, Ukraine. It covers hard, processed and curd cheeses, as well as butter and whey.

History. According to the producer, the town's first dairy opened almost a century ago, and in 1982 the plant was expanded into a cheese-making complex. In 2001 it joined the international Savencia group, which has French roots, and its equipment was modernised. The plant holds ISO 9001 (since 2005), ISO 22000 (since 2015) and HALAL certification.

Ranges. Dobrodar is the brand's most aged cheese, ripened for 45 days in a wax coating. Hard cheeses include Ukrainskyi, Smetankovyi, Hollandskyi, Zvenyhorodskyi Classic and Zvenyhorodskyi Extra, and Fihura — Dutch-type cheeses close to gouda and edam (semi-hard cheeses in international terms). Processed cheeses come in blocks, portions and creamy tubs; the producer makes them from its own hard cheeses and butter. Curd cheese (tvorog) comes as Rozsypchastyi (crumbly), Tradytsiinyi and Fihura.
