🥃 H by Hine VSOP
The younger cognac from the Hine house: a VSOP Fine Champagne made from 20 cognac spirits of Grande and Petite Champagne, created in 2004; 40% ABV.
H by Hine VSOP is the youngest cognac in the permanent Hine range. It is a VSOP with the Fine Champagne designation: all spirits come only from the Grande and Petite Champagne crus. The strength is 40% ABV, according to the importer Hotaling & Co. Apart from the VSOP designation, the label carries no other age statement.
According to The Spirits Business, the blend was created in 2004 by cellar master Éric Forget as a young and fruity cognac. It contains 20 cognac spirits. Sources give different minimum ages: Difford's Guide says four years, the importer says five. As with any cognac, it is made from white wine, distilled twice and matured in oak barrels.
Why this matters to you. Compared with Hine Rare, also a VSOP Fine Champagne, H by Hine is lighter; Rare has a larger share of Grande Champagne. The VSOP designation refers to the age of the youngest spirit, not the average. The WHO reminds: there is no safe amount of alcohol.
