Liguori Nero di seppia
Liguori black spaghetti made with 4% cuttlefish ink and slowly dried, intended for seafood dishes.
Liguori Nero di seppia are Liguori's black spaghetti made with cuttlefish ink. The ink makes up 4% of the recipe and gives the pasta a deep, natural black colour and a light taste of the sea.
The spaghetti are dried slowly, like other Liguori pasta. The pack is fully recyclable paper and carries FSC and Aticelca certifications.
The maker designed these spaghetti for seafood cooking: they go well with molluscs and crustaceans and with more elaborate fish recipes. The black colour makes the dish stand out on the plate.
There is one shape in the range, spaghetti. It does not carry the Pasta di Gragnano PGI.
The range is made by Liguori, a pasta maker in Gragnano, Campania, whose history goes back to 1795 and whose pasta is sold in more than 70 countries. Cuttlefish ink (nero di seppia in Italian) has long been used in Italian cooking for black risotto, sauces and pasta. The product page does not list the base dough separately.
