📜 Luberon

Appellation ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 1

An appellation on the slopes of the Luberon mountains, with fresh rosés, whites and reds.

Luberon is a protected appellation in the south of France, on the slopes of the Luberon mountains in Provence. It belongs to the Southern Rhône. Fresh rosé, white and red wines are made here. The mountains shelter the vineyards, days are warm and nights cool, so the wines come out fruity and fresh.

In the reds the main grapes are Grenache and Syrah. They give a soft wine with notes of red berries and spice. The rosé and white are light and aromatic, served chilled with salads, fish, vegetables and cheese. In Provence rosé is among the most loved wines. All the wines are still, without bubbles.

Luberon is little known in the world but is popular with tourists. The area has many hilltop villages, lavender fields and old stone buildings. The wines here are not too expensive and suit the everyday table. Together with other Southern Rhône appellations, such as Vacqueyras, Luberon shows the variety of the region. Like any alcohol, they are best drunk in moderation.
