Shostka Processed Cheeses
Shostka Processed Cheeses are Vershkovyi, Yantar, Hollandskyi and Druzhba processed cheeses with 37 to 50% fat.
Shostka Processed Cheeses is the processed cheese range of the Lactalis plant in Shostka. On the official website all four products are named "processed cheese".
Varieties: Vershkovyi (cream) with 45% and 38% fat, Yantar with 50%, Hollandskyi (Dutch) with 37% and Druzhba with 40%. Processed cheese is made by melting rennet cheese with emulsifying salts into a smooth mass. Yantar and Vershkovyi taste mild and creamy; Druzhba and Hollandskyi are more cheesy.
How to use: on sandwiches and toast, in hot sandwiches, for cheese soup, pasta sauces and vegetable bakes. Processed cheese melts well and does not separate. Keep opened packs in the fridge and use them within a few days.
Check the name on the label: "processed cheese" and "cheese product" are different categories; the page Processed cheeses and cheese products explains the difference.
