🧀 Hochland Ecken

Cheese range ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 3 Updated:

Hochland Ecken is a range of spreadable processed cheese wedges from the German cheesemaker Hochland: creamy, with Emmental and with Gouda.

Hochland Ecken is a range of processed cheese in triangular portions from Hochland, a family-owned cheesemaker in the Allgäu, Germany, founded in 1927. "Ecken" means "corners" in German: the cheese is packed in a round box of individually foil-wrapped wedges.

According to the maker, the range has three flavours. Ecken Sahnig is a creamy processed cheese at the "Rahmstufe" fat level, with 292 kcal and 25 g of fat per 100 g. Ecken mit Emmentaler contains 22% Emmental and Ecken mit Gouda 21% Gouda; both have 45% fat in dry matter. They are processed cheese preparations made from melted cheeses, dairy ingredients and emulsifying salts.

All variants are made with microbial rennet, so Hochland labels them vegetarian. They are gluten-free and contain no added flavourings or colourings.

How to use them: a wedge spreads easily on bread or crackers, works as a packed snack and melts quickly into warm dishes such as sauces, bakes and cream soups. Ecken belong to the processed cheese category; the brand also makes the sliced processed cheese Hochland Sandwich Scheiben. Keep refrigerated and use within a few days of opening.
