🥃 1800 Blanco
Unaged 1800 Tequila (1800 Silver in Britain) made from 100% blue Weber agave; distilled twice; 38–40% ABV depending on market.
1800 Blanco is an unaged tequila from the 1800 Tequila brand, sold as 1800 Silver in Great Britain. It is the youngest version in the line: clear, with no time in an oak barrel. The official website gives 40% ABV for the US market; Difford's Guide gives 38% ABV for the 0.7 l bottle.
The producer says the tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave, yeast and water, and distilled twice; according to Proximo Spirits, the agave is baked in stone ovens. Difford's Guide notes that when the brand started, the blanco rested for 15 days in American whiskey barrels, but according to available data this is no longer done.
Why it matters to you. Blanco is the starting point of the brand: compare it with 1800 Reposado and 1800 Añejo, which age in oak barrels, and with 1800 Cristalino, which is also colourless but aged. Check the strength on the label, as it depends on the market. The WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
