🥃 1800 Cristalino

Spirit line ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 4 Updated:

Clear aged 1800 Tequila: oak barrels, a finish in port casks, charcoal filtering; añejo class according to Difford's Guide.

1800 Cristalino is a clear aged tequila from the 1800 Tequila brand, which Difford's Guide places in the añejo class. The colour is removed by filtering through charcoal, so the spirit is colourless like blanco. The strength is 40% ABV on the official US website; Difford's Guide gives different figures: 38 and 35% ABV.

According to the producer, tequila made from 100% blue Weber agave is aged in American and French oak barrels, then the batches are blended and finished in port casks. Difford's Guide gives the age as one year and mentions charcoal filtering; the spirit is made at the La Rojeña distillery in the town of Tequila.

Why it matters to you. A clear colour does not mean there was no ageing: Cristalino is closer to 1800 Añejo than to 1800 Blanco. Compare it also with Casamigos Cristalino, which is based on reposado. According to available data, NOM-006 has no separate class called cristalino. The WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
