🥃 1800 Reposado
Aged 1800 Tequila made from 100% blue agave: at least six months in American and French oak barrels; 38–40% ABV.
1800 Reposado is an aged tequila from the 1800 Tequila brand, placed between 1800 Blanco and 1800 Añejo in age within the line. According to the producer, its colour is bright honey. The strength is 40% ABV on the official US website and 38% ABV in Difford's Guide for the 0.7 l bottle.
The base is 100% blue Weber agave. The producer says the tequila rests in new American and French oak barrels but does not state a period; according to Difford's Guide, ageing lasts at least six months. This is well above the minimum of two months that the Mexican standard NOM-006 sets for the reposado class.
Why it matters to you. Reposado sits between the freshness of blanco and the wood notes of añejo: the producer describes caramel, light spices and a touch of smoke. Compare it with 1800 Añejo, which spends more than a year in oak, and with unaged 1800 Blanco. The WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
