The name "cerasuolo" comes from the Italian word for "cherry": the colour of the wine recalls cherry. The wine is red, bright and light in colour, with notes of cherry, pomegranate and spice. The blend has two local grapes: Nero d'Avola and Frappato. Nero d'Avola gives structure, colour and tannins, and Frappato gives freshness, floral aroma and lightness.
