The 12-year-old matures in bourbon and sherry casks 1. The 15-year-old, in Dr Bill Lumsden's words, uses an enhanced selection of bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks 2.
Older sources describe other versions. Difford's Guide mentions a release with no age statement at 46% ABV, not chill-filtered, in Oloroso casks from Jerez 3. Whisky Advocate describes a 12-year-old: about 10 years in bourbon casks and 2 in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks 4.
The producer describes the 12-year-old as spicy and sweet: raisins, honeycomb and chocolate-covered hazelnuts with cinnamon 1. The 15-year-old has a rosewood colour, notes of mead, walnut and toffee, a palate of clove, cinnamon and dark chocolate, and a long finish of Seville orange marmalade and dates 2.
