Mlekpol Złoty Mazur ("golden Mazur") is a ripened Dutch-type yellow cheese made by the Polish dairy cooperative Mlekpol at its plant in Mrągowo, in Masuria.
The producer describes Złoty Mazur as valued for its mild yet savoury taste. It is made from cow's milk from cows grazed in clean regions of Poland. The cheese is sold as a block, in slices and as a 700 g portion; together with Gouda, Edam and Salami it is one of the main sliced yellow cheeses of the Mlekpol brand.
How to use it: Złoty Mazur is an all-purpose cheese for everyday cooking. It goes on sandwiches and toast, into bakes and hot sandwiches, and cut into cubes for buffets and cheese boards.
In style it is close to Gouda: semi-hard, elastic and mild. The range is listed under semi-hard cheeses.
