Divella Fantasie Ghiotte is Divella's range of coloured dry pasta. The company calls it a tricolour: the gold comes from durum wheat semolina, the red from tomato and the green from spinach.
According to the official site, the dough is first made from these three ingredients and then extruded through dies to give the pasta its recognisable shape. The colour therefore comes from the vegetables in the dough itself, not from a filling or sauce. Divella does not state the exact share of tomato and spinach.
The range has four shapes, each named 'al pomodoro e spinaci' — with tomato and spinach: Spaghetti n. 8, Penne Ziti Rigate n. 27, Fusilli n. 40 and Farfalle n. 85. They are the same shapes as in the classic Pasta di semola range, only in coloured form.
This pasta brightens a plate with no extra effort, so it is used for simple dishes with butter and cheese, pasta salads, festive meals or children's menus. It contains gluten and is not suitable for people with coeliac disease; for them Divella has a separate Pasta senza Glutine range.
