Garofalo Ditali Strapasta
Small soup pasta by Garofalo, made from durum wheat semolina and wheat germ.
Garofalo Ditali Strapasta is a small soup pasta (pastina) from the Garofalo Strapasta range. Shape type: ditalini. Garofalo is a pasta maker from Gragnano near Naples, founded in 1789.
Ingredients: durum wheat semolina and defatted durum wheat germ. Strapasta adds durum wheat germ to the semolina; the brand says it has more fibre and protein than its classic pasta. It is drawn through bronze dies, which gives it a rough surface.
Cooking time: 10 minutes. Pack size: 500 g. As with any dry pasta, it is cooked in plenty of boiling salted water, about one litre per 100 g, and drained while still firm to the bite. Small shapes like this are cooked in clear broth, minestrone and bean or chickpea soups.
Allergens: contains gluten (wheat).
