📜 Bardolino Superiore
Red wine from the eastern shore of Lake Garda, a more aged version of light Bardolino.
Bardolino Superiore is a red wine from the Bardolino area by the eastern shore of Lake Garda in the Veneto, Italy. It is a longer-aged and slightly stronger version of light Bardolino. The name is protected as a designation of origin (PDO). The wine is made from the same grapes as Valpolicella: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. The vineyards lie on gentle hills left by a glacier, and the lake softens the climate. The wine is pale, bright and light, with notes of cherry, berries and pepper. Superiore differs from ordinary Bardolino in being released later and with higher alcohol. Thanks to this the wine has more body and keeps better, although it stays light. It is a still wine, without bubbles. Bardolino is served lightly chilled, with starters, pasta, Lake Garda fish and light meat. In style it is closer to light reds than to powerful Valpolicella.
