The largest region by volume: Prosecco, Soave and Valpolicella.

Veneto is a region in north-eastern Italy whose main city is Venice. It is one of the largest wine-producing regions of the country by volume. A wide range of wines is made here, from light sparkling Prosecco to rich Amarone. The region belongs to Italian wine.

The main appellations are Valpolicella, Soave, Conegliano Valdobbiadene and Lake Garda, along with many smaller ones such as Colli Euganei, Piave, Gambellara and Bardolino. Prosecco is made from the Glera grape. Soave is made from Garganega, while Valpolicella and Amarone are made from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. Partly dried grapes give Amarone and Recioto.

The hills between the Alps and the Adriatic offer many different conditions: the climate is mild near Lake Garda and cooler toward the foothills. The Prosecco hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene were added to the UNESCO list in 2019.

The region also contains Verona, Padua, Vicenza and Treviso. Veneto is well known worldwide: Prosecco is drunk as an aperitif, while Valpolicella and Soave are valued for their character and fair price. The eastern shore of Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy, also belongs to Veneto. The region covers about 18,400 square kilometres.
