🥃 Stroh 80
The strongest Stroh line: Original Inländer Rum, 80% ABV, for baking, desserts and hot drinks.
Stroh 80 is the strongest line of the Austrian Stroh brand: Stroh Original Inländer Rum, which Austrians simply call “Stroh Rum”. According to Spirit Radar, its strength is 80% ABV. The official website describes it as a symbol of Austrian strong spirits, closely tied to Austrian baking.
The producer says Inländer Rum is made from sugarcane molasses; the sources do not disclose the exact recipe or the ageing, so we do not state them. According to Spiritradar, the base in the nineteenth century was beet-sugar spirit, and since 2008 this brand's rum has to be made in Austria from molasses. Our sources do not confirm that it qualifies as “rum” under EU rules.
Why this matters to you. Stroh 80 is meant for cooking and mixing: the producer recommends it for baking, cakes, desserts and hot drinks, and for cocktails and dishes only in moderation. Compare it with Stroh 60 and Stroh 40: the strength differs almost twofold. The WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
