🧀 Galbani Gim
Galbani Gim is Galbani's range of mild Gorgonzola PDO with its trademark drop: the 220 g tub, Gim Riserva, deli-counter cheese and a mascarpone blend.
Galbani Gim is a range of mild Gorgonzola with a Protected Designation of Origin from the Italian brand Galbani, part of the Lactalis group. Galbani calls Gim the Gorgonzola "with the drop", after the recognisable drop on its packaging.
Gim is a Gorgonzola dolce, sweet and creamy. According to the maker, its characteristic culture has been reproduced every day since 1945, and the cheese is made and matured under the Gorgonzola DOP rules. The ingredients are milk, salt and rennet. The cheese is naturally lactose-free (under 0.1 g per 100 g) but contains galactose. Per 100 g it provides 316 kcal, 26 g of fat and 19 g of protein.
Products in the range: Gorgonzola DOP Gim in a resealable 220 g tub; Gim Riserva, 180 g, from selected wheels with light-coloured mould, a creamy texture and hand salting; Gim cut to order at the deli counter; and Gim mascarpone e Gorgonzola DOP, 150 g, made of 60% mascarpone and 40% Gorgonzola.
How to use it: spread Gim on bread, serve it with jams, or add it to risotto, pasta and baked dishes, hot or cold. Store at no more than +4 °C.
