Cheese range ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 2 Updated:

Galbani Santa Lucia is Galbani's range of fresh cow's milk cheeses — mozzarella, ricotta, mascarpone, burrata and stracciatella — launched in 1956 as Italy's first industrial mozzarella.

Galbani Santa Lucia is the fresh cheese range of the Italian brand Galbani. It began in 1956 as the first mozzarella produced on an industrial scale in Italy and has since grown into a whole family of fresh cheeses.

The range includes mozzarella balls, bite-size ciliegine, cubes and slices, mozzarella for pizza and cooking, fior di latte, ricotta, mascarpone, burrata, stracciatella and fiocchi di latte (cottage-style cheese). There are lactose-free mozzarella, a lighter La Leggera version and mozzarella with added live cultures.

Santa Lucia cheeses are made from cow's milk. They are fresh, unripened cheeses, so they are kept in the fridge and eaten by the date on the pack. Mozzarella is a pasta filata cheese: the curd is scalded and stretched, which gives its layered, fibrous texture.

How to use: mozzarella in caprese salad, on pizza and in baked dishes; ricotta in pasta fillings and baking; mascarpone in tiramisu and creams; burrata with tomatoes and bread.
