🍷 Homemade wine
Wine made at home for yourself, or a simple house wine in a restaurant.
Homemade wine is wine that a person makes at home for themselves and their family. In restaurants the term house wine is used in a similar way: a simple wine served by the glass or carafe at a modest price. These are two different meanings of one idea.
Homemade wine is made from grapes or other fruit. The fruit is crushed, the juice ferments with yeast, and the wine is then settled and bottled. The method is known in many countries, especially those with a vine-growing tradition: Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Italy. Each family has its own methods and its own taste.
By type, homemade wine is close to table wine: ordinary still wine without ageing in costly barrels. Quality depends on the grapes and on clean work. In most countries it cannot be sold without registration, and any alcohol should be drunk in moderation.
