Ile de France
Ile de France is the Savencia group's international brand of French cheeses, named after the liner Ile de France: Brie, Camembert, blue and goat's cheeses.
Ile de France is a French cheese brand of the Savencia group sold mainly outside France. It is not linked to the Île-de-France region around Paris: the brand takes its name from the ocean liner Ile de France.
According to Savencia, it was aboard this liner that French cheeses first crossed the Atlantic in 1936. The ship was famous for its Art Deco style and was seen as a symbol of the French way of life, so the brand presents itself as an ambassador of French art de vivre.
The owner, Savencia, is a French cheese and dairy group that also owns Caprice des Dieux, Saint Agur, Saint Albray and Le Rustique. The international Ile de France website has versions for the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, Chile, Romania, Japan, Korea, China and Hong Kong.
The range is grouped into Brie (250 g, 3 kg, Petit Brie, Mini Brie), Camembert (250 and 125 g), Apérifrais fresh-cheese snacks, Brie and Emmental-style slices, blue cheeses (Roquefort and Brie au Bleu), a goat's cheese and Emmental. With these a whole French cheese board can be built from one brand.
The brand offers its cheeses for cheese boards, hot dishes and snacks throughout the day.
