Northern Dalmatia is a wine zone on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, in Šibenik-Knin County. It is part of Dalmatia. The best-known place is Primošten, a small town between Šibenik and Trogir on the Adriatic shore. The vineyards lie on stony terraces whose slopes are built by hand from stone, which makes the landscape look unusual.

The main red grape is Babić. This local vine is well suited to hot, stony soils and gives dark, full-bodied, tannic wines with the aroma of ripe berries. The wine is usually called "Primošten Babić". Among whites, Maraština is used, light and fresh. Red, white and rosé wines are made.

The famous stony vineyards of Primošten are currently being considered as a candidate for the UNESCO list. A picture of these vineyards was even hung in the UN centre in New York.

The Greeks brought viticulture to the Dalmatian islands about 2,500 years ago, and wine has been made there ever since. The Dalmatian coast has a Mediterranean climate, while the Dinaric Alps create pockets of alpine climate at higher altitudes. Both main grapes, Babić and Maraština, are local and typical of Dalmatia.
