Kweichow Moutai Feitian is the main line of the Kweichow Moutai brand, known abroad as Flying Fairy. It is a sauce-aroma baijiu from the town of Moutai in Guizhou province. The strength is 53% ABV, the usual bottle is 50 cl, and Fortune calls Flying Fairy the company's core brand.
According to China Daily, Feitian is made from sorghum, wheat and water: the raw material is steamed nine times, fermented eight times and distilled seven times, and the whole cycle takes five years. Fortune writes that the raw material must come from Moutai and that the spirit rests in clay vessels for at least four years before sale. With age the drink takes on a yellowish tint.
