🥃 Nonino Tradizione
Base grappa from Nonino made from white and red grape pomace; distilled in copper pot stills, rested in steel, 41% vol.
Nonino Tradizione is the base grappa of the Nonino family distillery in Friuli. It is made from a blend of white and red grape pomace, not from a single variety like the Monovitigno grappas. The core version is 41% vol.; the same line also includes a stronger Tradizione 50°.
According to the producer, the pomace is destemmed, fermented under vacuum in steel tanks with temperature control, and distilled right away in small batches in copper pot stills. Heads and tails are cut, leaving the “heart”. Before bottling, the grappa rests for six months to a year in steel, without oak, which is why it is clear.
Why this matters to you. Tradizione is the reference point for comparison: Nonino Il Moscato shows the aroma of a single variety, and Nonino AnticaCuvée Riserva shows the effect of years in oak. The producer recommends serving the grappa at about 12 °C in a tulip-shaped glass. WHO reminds: there is no safe level of alcohol consumption.
