Pâtes Grand'Mère Soupes et potages is the Pâtes Grand'Mère line made especially for soups, broths and potages. Like all the brand's pasta it follows the traditional Alsatian recipe: a kilogram of durum wheat semolina and seven fresh free-range eggs from France. This gives the small pasta a soft, melting texture that the whole family enjoys.
The main shapes are alphabet letters (alphabets), angel-hair nests (nids d'ange) and pépinettes. The alphabet letters are moulded and cut into the shapes of letters; the maker notes that they bring back the taste of childhood and suit soups for children and adults alike. The angel-hair nests are very fine noodles wound into nests, close to capellini, recommended for traditional vegetable broths and even Asian-style soups. Pépinettes are tiny grains of pasta.
