Settele Spätzle
Settele's range of fresh, pre-cooked spätzle from Neu-Ulm: egg spätzle with the PGI Schwäbische Spätzle, Knöpfle, spelt, spinach, vegan and organic spätzle.
Settele Spätzle is the range of fresh, chilled spätzle made by Settele in Neu-Ulm. The spätzle are sold already cooked and ready for the pan. The main product, Eier-Spätzle "geschabt" (scraped egg spätzle), carries the EU protected geographical indication Schwäbische Spätzle. According to the official site its ingredients are wheat flour, drinking water, whole egg (20%), durum wheat semolina, salt, rapeseed oil and citric acid; the eggs come from barn-raised hens.
The range also includes Eier-Spätzle "Knöpfle" (short, button-shaped spätzle), G'schabte Spätzle, Lange Spätzle, Spinat-Spätzle, Dinkel-Spätzle (spelt flour 45% and whole egg 16%), vegan spätzle without egg (durum wheat semolina, wheat flour and wheat gluten), Bio Eier-Spätzle from organic ingredients (whole egg 8%) and two ready meals, Kässpätzle and Spätzle mit Soß'.
Settele recommends frying the spätzle in a pan with butter and 3–4 tablespoons of water, heating them in the microwave for about 4 minutes at 600 W, or letting them stand in boiling salted water for about 60 seconds. They should be heated through before eating. The range suits anyone who wants the traditional Swabian side dish without making the dough at home.
