Red wines from the Teroldego grape from the Campo Rotaliano plain in Trentino.

Teroldego Rotaliano is an Italian wine with a protected name (PDO) from Trentino in northern Italy. It is made on the Campo Rotaliano plain in the valley of the Adige River, between the towns of Mezzocorona, Mezzolombardo and San Michele all'Adige. It is one of the few plains among the mountains. Soils here are alluvial, gravelly and light.

The wine is made from the local red grape Teroldego. It is dark and deep in colour, with aromas of dark berries, blackberry, blackcurrant and spice, and soft tannins. Red versions of different ageing exist, as well as rosé (rosato). Simple young wines are fresh and fruity, and aged ones deeper and fuller.

Teroldego Rotaliano belongs to Trentino and to red, rosé and still wines. The grape and the appellation are inseparable: the variety is hardly found so often anywhere else. The wine is served with meat, charcuterie and mushroom dishes, at room temperature or slightly cool. Strength is usually moderate, around 12.5–13%.
