Valfleuri Pâtes 100% blé dur is the line in which Valfleuri steps away from its egg specialism. It is Dry durum wheat pasta: the only ingredient is top-grade durum wheat semolina, with no eggs (the maker only warns of possible traces of egg). The wheat is grown by French farmers on farms certified HVE — High Environmental Value. This is a French agri-environmental certification run by the Ministry of Agriculture, assessing biodiversity, fertiliser and plant-protection use and water management.
The line was launched to showcase local growers and their environmental practices. Since 2023 it has been packed in recyclable cardboard boxes made from sustainably managed forests.
On the website the line includes tagliatelle and lampions, a short decorative shape. The tagliatelle cook in about 5 minutes and the lampions in about 7. Without egg, this pasta has a classic firm bite and suits tomato and vegetable sauces, salads and dishes where an egg taste is not wanted.
