Agnesi Pasta Corta

Pasta range ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 2 Updated:

Agnesi's short dry pasta range made from semolina of Italian durum wheat: 12 numbered shapes including penne, fusilli and tortiglioni.

Agnesi Pasta Corta is the short dry pasta range of the Agnesi brand. According to the official site its only ingredient is durum wheat semolina, from wheat grown and milled in Italy. The grain comes from 193 farms in central and southern Italy, mainly in Umbria and Apulia. The pasta is extruded through bronze dies, so its surface is rough and holds sauce well.

The range has 12 shapes, each with its own number: penne rigate N° 19, mezze penne rigate N° 95, pennette rigate N° 87, penne ricce N° 21, fusilli N° 102, eliche N° 56, tortiglioni N° 46, cellentani N° 93 (spiral tubes similar to cavatappi), chifferi rigati N° 50, cravattine N° 60 and ricciutelle N° 88.

The Agnesi site links the birth of penne to 1865, when a pasta maker near Genoa built a machine that cut pasta diagonally without crushing it. Short shapes suit thick meat and vegetable sauces, and the maker also recommends penne rigate for baked pasta. The range belongs to dry durum wheat pasta.
