La Molisana Le Sfiziose
La Molisana's speciality range: potato gnocchi and chicche made with fresh Italian potatoes, wholemeal and gluten-free gnocchi, and other specialities.
La Molisana Le Sfiziose groups the brand's specialities outside its classic dry pasta, above all potato gnocchi. Gnocchi di patate and the smaller Chicche di patate are made with fresh 100% Italian potatoes, steamed and worked while hot, and the recipe has no preservatives; the chicche contain 80% potato purée and are popular with children. The range also has Gnocchi integrali, made with potato flakes and wholemeal flour, and gluten-free gnocchi with 80% potato purée.
The gnocchi cook in about 2 minutes and come in 500 g packs. They suit tomato sauce, butter and sage, pesto or gorgonzola and radicchio, and can also be baked. As the brand notes, gnocchi are one of the oldest forms of pasta and appear under other names in many Italian regions.
Besides gnocchi, the range lists Spaghetti al nero di seppia, coloured black with cuttlefish ink and meant for seafood dishes, durum wheat couscous that can be served hot or cold, and Fusilli Tricolore for cold pasta salads.
