🍷 Mimosa
A cocktail of sparkling wine and orange juice.
Mimosa is a cocktail of sparkling wine and orange juice. They are usually taken in roughly equal parts. It is served chilled in a tall glass, most often at breakfast or brunch. It is a light drink: there is little alcohol because the sparkling wine is diluted with juice. The strength is usually a few percent. A dry base is taken, such as Prosecco, Cava or brut, otherwise the drink is too sweet. Freshly squeezed juice is best. The cocktail got its name from its colour, which recalls mimosa flowers. It belongs to wine cocktails, like other drinks based on sparkling wine. There are many variations: with grapefruit juice, with peach purée, with strawberry. Although the cocktail is seen as light, it contains alcohol, so it cannot be called a harmless drink. For those who do not drink alcohol, there is a non-alcoholic version based on non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
