🥃 Olmeca Reposado
Aged tequila of the core Olmeca line: a mixto from Los Altos, aged at least 5 months in bourbon casks; 35–38% ABV depending on the market.
Olmeca Reposado is an aged tequila from the core Olmeca line. Like Olmeca Blanco, it is a mixto, so it contains sugars other than agave. Strength depends on the market: Difford's Guide gives 38% ABV, and the Pernod Ricard page gives 35%. The bottle carries no age statement.
According to Pernod Ricard, the tequila is aged at least five months in oak casks that previously held bourbon; Difford's Guide describes five to six months. The producer lists agave, sugar syrup, yeast and water as ingredients. The agave comes from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, and the tequila is made at the Olmeca distillery in Arandas.
Why this matters to you. The reposado label refers only to aging, not to 100% agave. If you want a reposado made only from blue agave, compare it with Olmeca Altos Reposado from the same brand. Compared with Olmeca Blanco, this version differs by its barrel, which adds oak flavour. WHO reminds us that there is no safe level of alcohol.
