The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve è un single malt dello Speyside senza indicazione di età, con 40 % vol. È stato lanciato nel marzo 2015 e ha sostituito The Glenlivet 12 Year Old come espressione base della gamma. Secondo Difford's Guide, vi si percepiscono mela verde, cereali, arancia, albicocca e vaniglia.
Il whisky matura soprattutto in botti di bourbon, con un uso selettivo di botti di rovere americano di primo riempimento. La base è orzo maltato locale non torbato, acqua di Josie's Well e gli alti alambicchi di rame della distilleria di Ballindalloch. Come ogni Single Malt Scotch, matura almeno tre anni in botti di rovere.
Perché è importante per lei. È il punto d'ingresso più semplice nella gamma The Glenlivet e un buon riferimento per confrontare The Glenlivet 12 Year Old e 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve. L'assenza di età in etichetta non significa qualità inferiore; indica solo che l'età esatta non è dichiarata. L'OMS ricorda che non esiste una quantità di alcol sicura per la salute.
