Granoro I Classici
Granoro's classic dry pasta range from durum wheat semolina and water, in about 60 long, short and soup formats.
Granoro I Classici is Granoro's classic dry pasta range and the largest by number of formats. The ingredients are durum wheat semolina and water; the maker speaks of a "careful selection" of semolinas but, unlike the Dedicato range, does not state where the wheat is grown.
According to Granoro, the die for each format is designed so the pasta cooks evenly. The cooked pasta should be porous, elastic and keep its shape while cooking.
The brand's online shop lists about 60 numbered formats: long ones such as capellini no. 16 and spaghetti; short ones such as penne rigate no. 26, spirali no. 32 and canneroni no. 21; and small soup pasta, for example corallini no. 71.
This is everyday dry durum wheat pasta covering almost every common shape: thin long pasta for soups and light sauces, ridged tubes and spirals for thick sauces, small shapes for broth. For those who want to know where the grain comes from, the maker offers the Dedicato range made with Apulian wheat.
